After the October 26 fire, the Fire Assistance Fund was created to support the 48 displaced veterans and help with recovery and rebuilding efforts. Our
community, near and far, truly stepped up and rallied during this time of need. We remain very grateful for the many individuals, corporations, and
foundations who provided vital support to help us recover.
Thanks to your continued support in 2024, we directed resources to significant maintenance projects in our housing properties throughout the year.
Projects included a new roof at Carson Apartments, a new kitchen at the Loyd House, and improved accessibility features at Veterans Villa. We were also
able to continue investments in our cash reserves and our Building Maintenance Endowment ensuring continued stability for the organization.
We are happy to report that 82% of funds received in 2024 went directly to support the life-changing services offered to Hoosier Heroes in need.
Special thanks to our strategic partners at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Indiana Community Foundation, United Way of Central Indiana, the
City of Indianapolis, and Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. We are grateful for their continued investment in the important work we
are doing to end veteran homelessness.
