From Homelessness to Homeowner
From Homelessness to Homeowner
It was a hard year for everyone in 2020. For Navy veteran Bianca, it
was almost too much to handle.
After losing her home, Bianca desperately tried to make ends meet
while staying at a hotel. But paying for a hotel and food while
working in the food service industry wasn’t working.
Bianca couldn’t do it alone. Thankfully, you were there to lessen the
load.
You covered the costs of her hotel until she could move into Veterans Villa – our 39-unit apartment complex that
provides affordable housing and case management for veterans facing homelessness.
Once safely housed in her apartment, Bianca was able to focus on therapy, improving her financial wellness, and
exploring new career paths. She enrolled in our intensive three-phase Workforce Development program: VetWorks.
Through the program, Bianca received education and training in IT.
Her hard work led to a new career with a full-time job, and after a year in that job, she became a
homeowner!
Last year, Bianca moved into her own home on the near south-side of Indianapolis and is only a few
minutes away from work.
Without your support, she’s not sure where she would be.
right now. I probably wouldn’t be on this Earth anymore.

“I don’t mean that I wouldn’t have the house
You were there all along the way, supporting and encouraging Bianca as she worked to achieve one
goal after another! THANK YOU for being there!
