LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Michael Rodriques
In 2017, I first encountered HVAF during a volunteer opportunity through my employer, Simon Property
Group. What began as a one-time chance to serve veterans in the pantry, ignited my passion to help others
and I signed up as a regular. Each week I volunteered to help veterans shop through the pantry, helping to
meet their basic needs by providing food, clothing, and hygiene items. I loved meeting tangible needs of those
who selflessly served our country!
When I was approached to join the Board of Directors, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to be more deeply
involved with an organization making such a positive impact on our community. Over the last 8 years, I’ve
been part of challenging and rewarding times focused on ensuring that no hero is homeless on our streets.
I’ve seen the agency grow and change, and during the fire on October 26, I was reminded how dedicated our
team is to those we serve.
In June, I was honored to be selected as the Board Chairman for the next two years. I am eager to share with
you my passion for the incredible work HVAF is doing to end veteran homelessness in our community.
I want to thank you for your incredible support of our mission, to provide hope, housing, and self-sufficiency
for all veterans and their families. Without you, we would struggle to provide such high-quality services to the
most vulnerable veterans in our community.
Respectfully,
