VETS
   ROBERT J.
Army veteran Robert lost his business, his home, and was fighting a mental health battle inside. He turned to HVAF for help. Robert was able to get back on his feet while living in HVAF transitional housing and, for the first time ever, could focus solely on his mental health.
ROBERT S.
Recovering addict, Army veteran Robert S., found himself in need of a job, an apartment, food, and clothing. HVAF helped him get every single thing he needed, starting with food & clothing, and soon followed by a job and an apartment. HVAF was even able to help him pay for training to become a Recovery Specialist to help other veterans overcome addiction.
LOLITA
Navy veteran Lolita was living in an abandoned house before HVAF case managers placed her into transitional housing. After 8 months of working with her case manager to overcome the barriers keeping her homeless, Lolita moved into her own apartment and started school for cyber security.

Each December, we celebrate the 12 Vets of Christmas. For 12 days, we shared how a veteran’s life was changed because of your support in 2021.
These are veterans who were homeless one day and in a warm safe place the next, went from joblessness to a new career, or received a life-changing gift. These are veterans who were hopeless one day and had hope the next. These are veterans YOU helped -
THANK YOU!

JENNIFER
HVAF took care of Marine Corps veteran Jennifer’s rent & utilities while she received addic- tion recovery assistance and gained employment experience in the VA's vocational rehabilitation program. After successfully completing the program, Jennifer now has a full-time job at the VA and has been able to save enough money to buy a car.
DARNELL
Navy veteran Darnell lost his job as an electrician. Instead of being upset, he saw it as an opportunity to reevaluate his career choices. HVAF’s Employment Team encouraged Darnell and turned his dreams into plans. HVAF was able to
cover the tuition for Darnell to attend classes and earn his CDL license!
MICHAEL P.
Navy veteran Michael works as a cook for a senior care facility while living at one of HVAF's transitional housing properties. Not only did he need transportation for his job, but also to find an apartment. When his case manager called and said he is receiving a free car – he couldn’t believe it. It’s already life-changing as he is now able to pick up extra shifts and earn overtime!
